For a full CV/narrative biography go to clintonwalker.com.au/about, meantime it’s enough to say: Born in Bendigo in regional Victoria in 1957, I am a Sydney-based writer, an art school drop-out and recovering rock critic who, since the late 70s, has built up a long list across (nine) books, television, journalism, CD productions, all sorts of stuff, mainly on local music, popular culture and social history. I am a(n intellectual) risk-taker, careerist-averse and I retain an almost terminal antipathy to corporatism and capital-‘p’ politics, and to the chattering classes who set Australia’s cultural agenda. I consider myself an historian who finds resonances where most don’t even bother to look, in our own backyard, yesterday. I mean, who else you gonna call?
